National skill day  was celebrated on 15/07/2016 at GBHSS Chittur. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among the Plus 1 students regarding skill up- gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also jobs that are to be created.
Program started at 10.00 AM as per the schedule with an orientation program about ASAP by the Plus 2 ASAP students. Our students shared their thoughts about ASAP, the courses offered, their scope, and course details. It captured the interest of Plus 1 students. The orientation program got finished by 11.00 AM.  The Green Army club also conducted an exhibition. Its major attraction was the charts prepared and displayed by the ASAP students. The exhibition was from 1.00 PM to 2.00 PM.
The program turned out to be a great success with the active participation of the Plus 1 students and their positive feed backs.
Apart from sharing the new ideas as an exhibition we conducted a pencil drawing and cartooning contest as part of the celebration. Most of the children actively participated. The evaluation was done by the expert panel of Judges. The winners were awarded with certificates.
On the whole, the program was informative and enjoyable. It was also a change from the class room monotony. With the relentless efforts of the sincere and dedicated group of students, the able guidance of the Principal and Coordinator, unstinted support from the Program manager, the program has been able to get a place to reckon with, in the sphere of education.
