My school


GBHSS Chittur is an upper primary with secondary and higher secondary school in chittur. It is located in chittur – tattamangalam, chittur block and Palakkad district. It is one of the oldest schools in this area. It is established in 1870. It’s a Malayalam medium co-educational school. Total 147 batches completed in this school from the past 147 years. Classes running in this school are up to 12th standard. The school has 24 teaching staff for strength of 600 students.
Character is a concept similar to culture but much less neutral. A school’s character is known by how the school is viewed by members and outsiders in the ethical and moral terms. Establishing the school’s credibility among students, teachers, parents and management and extremely in the broader community helps enhance and build up school’s character. Achieving excellence is a process a journey that takes us in pursuit of constant improvement.
Sports and games play a very important part in the school’s scholastic activities. The school team participates in all district, state and national level competitions. The students have brought accolades and honour to the school in various sports categories like Judo, Wrestling, etc...

ASAP has been a prestigious association in our school since its inception. It has been working rigorously during the past 3-4 years. The school has various clubs that promote special skills and ASAP club is one such club that promotes all skills. SDE in charge (Princy J) convene the club and oversee the functioning. Club secretaries help in organising activities.

To inculcate and promote general awareness and application oriented learning, students of GBHSS Chittur, KKMHSS Vandithavalam and PPHSS Kannimari of 2018 -2019 batch were brought together at SDC chittur on 26th January   for a one day workshop programme. The programme was entitled as 'KEY'. The major objective of the programme is to have a break from academic routine. Two sessions were there.   The First one was handled by Mr. Siju Rajan, Master trainer,   ASAP Kerala and Ms. Princy J,   SDE ASAP Kerala.   It mainly focused on the activities that promote child development, motivating the child to communicate his /her thoughts and various concepts were explained through experiments and demonstrations.   Second session was handled by Mr. Purushothaman, Sangavi Cooperation Senior Manager.   The topic handled by him was Anger management.   The joy that this occasion brought the students and faculties who attended it is an inspiration to...

August 19 is observed as World Photography day, which aims to inspire photographers across the planet to share a single photo with a simple purpose: to share their world with the world. In relation with Photography day, Radiance ASAP club students of GBHSS Chittur conducted a mobile photography competition for the Plus one students to explore their photography skills. The competition was from 29/10/18 to 5/11/18. The entries were received through whatsapp. With the support of school management, teachers and students the programme turned out to be a great success. The winner Ajay Kumar S of plus one computer science was awarded with a trophy and certificate in the school assembly.
